Perth 1943

Early years in Boyup Brook. Moved to Cottesloe in 1951, educated Swanbourne Primary and Scotch College.


Academic Qualifications

1960 - 63 

Studied 2 years full time then part time Diploma Commercial Art & Design Perth Technical College

1964  

Part time - life drawing classes, East Sydney Technical College

 
Employment History

1962-73

Employed as visualiser, studio manager, and art director in advertising industry in Perth & Sydney

1973

Formed Spaven Graphic design, a very successful art studio that operated as a consultant to industry, and free lance art director to advertising agencies for 26 years. During this time was visiting lecturer for 3 years at WAIT and later at central Metropolitan TAFE School of Art & Design. Also free lanced to the ABC, Channel 9 and WA Newspapers as a court illustrator.
