Godfrey has been painting and exhibiting on a regular basis in Perth since 1982. He has held numerous exhibitions including solo shows at Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery, Undercroft UWA, Gomboc, Quentin, and Church galleries and most recently at Stafford Studios. He has participated in mixed shows in South Australia, Victoria, NSW, Queensland, UK, India, China and Canada. His work is held in many private and public collections including Art Gallery of WA, Artbank (Sydney), UWA, Curtin University, Sir Charles Gairdner, Holmes A’Court and the collections of the Cities of Bunbury, Albany and Fremantle. In 2008 he entered the Doug Moran Portrait Prize for the first time and was selected as Highly Commended/Runner Up. In the same year he was selected as a finalist in the Alice Bale Art Award, Victoria and the Tattersall’s Landscape Art Prize in Queensland.
