Gary Leathendale
CURRICULUM VITAE
|
1982 - Immigrated to Australia from England. 1997 - Began to work as full time artist. Initially trained by Western Australian artist Larry Mitchell but largely self- taught. My working mediums include pastels, oil, charcoal and a variety of mixed mediums. Landscape-based but also works in the genre of the nude. A staunch believer in the empirical nature of art, and promoter of plein-air painting. Working seasonally with the weather, from a serene scene in Autumn on the river, to a strapped down easel in a full force storm in the middle of winter. Being a natural eclectic at heart, "it allows me not to be constrained by style." |
